As a senior mentor at Designlab (USA), I’ve helped dozens of students move past basic tutorials to master what the global market actually demands. If you want to unlock Figma, truly understand UX, or build a high-end website portfolio, my lessons are practical, straight to the point, available in English, Portuguese, or Spanish, and tailored for you.

Senior Mentor (UX Academy, Advanced Figma, Carreers, Advanced Accessibility, UI Mastery)
Rafael has been my only mentor since I started with Designlab — from the UX/UI Foundations course all the way through to the UX/UI Academy. I requested to continue with him because of how impactful his mentorship has been. Before joining Designlab, I had no prior experience in UX/UI; my background was in graphic design. Rafael guided me with professionalism, responsibility, and patience. He always gave me clear direction, and whenever I felt confused, he quickly identified the issues and provided practical, structured solutions. During my time in the UX/UI Academy, I faced many life changes that caused my progress to fall behind, and at one point I even considered giving up. Rafael consistently encouraged me, offered multiple approaches, and asked thoughtful questions about my plans and ideas to ensure I could keep going. Thanks to his mentorship, I was able to push through those challenges — and I made it! I am truly grateful for Rafael’s support, dedication, and expertise. He has been an incredible mentor and played a crucial role in my growth as a designer.
Rafael was my mentor from UX Academy Foundations. During our sessions, he offered valuable feedback on the aspects where my designs needed improvement. Apart from creating the designs, I had the chance to reflect on my reasons and share my ideas with him. Rafael motivated me to comprehend the reasoning behind choosing certain colors or layouts and guided me to stay receptive to exploring new concepts. His patience and guidance fostered my curiosity to delve deeper into becoming a UX designer. I am truly grateful for his help.
Rafael was my mentor for UX Academy and it was a pleasure working with him. He asked insightful questions about my designs and design process, and it helped me practice how to articulate my ideas—so much that I noticed myself improving each week during the course. He also always asks about accessibility, which is something I feel can be easily forgotten if one is not careful. Whenever I felt stuck, he was able to provide a good variety of resources to help me gain new ideas and insights. Not only were our sessions focused on the UX academy, but he also made time to ask about my own well-being and what I was doing outside of DesignLab, which I really appreciated. It made me feel heard as a person rather than being "just another student.
